Hemorrhoids

What are hemorrhoids?

Hemorrhoids are the name given to enlarged venous masses located under the lining of the inner wall of the anal canal. The veins hanging outward are red-purple in color. It causes bleeding from time to time due to destruction and holes that arise in it from time to time. Hemorrhoids are common in the world and Turkey, where 8 out of 10 people suffer from them.

What is the laser treatment of hemorrhoids?

Hemorrhoids are treated with a laser by entering the swollen vein with a somewhat thick laser wire and causing the vein to shrink within a short period not exceeding three minutes while the patient is under the influence of local anesthesia or sedatives (which cause sleep). One of the advantages of laser treatment of hemorrhoids is that it is without pain or bleeding. This method is applied within a short period and the patient returns to his daily life directly. The patient does not need medicines or wound dressings after this operation.
Since the application of the laser leads to shrinkage of the swollen veins from the root, the possibility of recurring the disease is weak. Laser treatment is very uncommon in Turkey, and Dr. Salah El-Din Yitgin and his team are considered among the pioneers in this field.

Stages of laser treatment of hemorrhoids

5 minutes of the patient’s time is enough to make him practice his normal life without any pain by applying the laser. The patient coming for examination is seen on an empty stomach. If the patient’s condition is suitable for the application, it is performed immediately. After the operation, there is no need to take any medications or make any dressings. The patient is discharged after giving him some advice about eating habits. The patient can return to his normal life after 30 minutes of the operation. There is no pain or burning after the operation. Temporary mild burning may be felt in some cases. Edema may occur in the bulges for a few days.
